SixOnSaturday

Scorchio ! In a rare and unusual occurrence of historical significance , it will actually be beautiful conditions this bank vacation weekend , at least round these parts . I have spent a few days in the garden , some welcome prison term off work , or not - horticulture as I now call it . Some clip was spent in the sack , very nice although I find it of necessity results in pins and needles in my feet – my considerable bulk causes a certain amount of hammock sagging , make my legs to be moderately akimbo . I managed to extract myself for long enough to take pic for this weeks version of Six on Saturday . Six things , in the garden , on a Saturday . Could be anything – a tulip , a tulip , a tulip or a tulip . Tulips also work well . Any tulip at all ! connect in …

Here are my Six for this hebdomad .

1 – Sempervivum boxwood . Back in January I mentioned that I had bought some slightly past - it semps at half price . I had a wooden box tray handy so I found it with my steal semps . It has occupy out quite nicely . And there is more colour too . It has been in the same spot on the patio steps since planting and seems quite felicitous to have been out all winter .

2 – Wallflower , ‘ Fire King ’ . A survivor from an fluky batch . The industrial plant are not particularly good but I ’m happy enough with the flowers . I might be persuaded to get some more for next spring .

3 – Narcissus ‘ Pipit ’ . As in life , so in daffodils , it ’s often deserving checking out the backside ! These are fading to a pale emollient as advertize but that effect is more marked in the turnabout .

4 – Tulips , full open up . Not indisputable of the variety , these have leap up in a planter where I do n’t recall planting any . They are enormous when opened out like this , easily the size of it of my ribbon .

5 – Tulip ‘ Pittsburgh ’ . I was minded to ration the tulips over a few weeks but I ’m afraid they may not last , so permit us enjoy them while we can . Pittsburgh here is a steward , I will definitely get more next class . I might even attempt to dry out and store some by way of an experiment .

6 – Tulip ‘ Apricot Delight ’ . Pretty enough , but ‘ Apricot Surprise ’ would be a better name since there is not a pinch of apricot that I can discern .
