I just see I had not post the before and afters for a couple of table I re - did , reprocess . I really liked the mode they turned out and one of them sold within a week of being place in the John Wilkes Booth — so , someone else really liked it too !
The first one was a Pottery Barn table that had been in a child ’s bedroom . It shew some overweight wear and rip . There was water hurt , nicks and cuts in the leg and it just look commonplace .
It was a barn blood-red people of colour , in the beginning . Instead of being substantial wood , it was made of a forest complex with a semi glossy finale . That makes it a bit harder to re - do . Paint does n’t stick to as well to this type of stuff .

I spend a solar day sanding . I did it by hired hand because I was afraid the power sander would end up crap plantation in the forest complex . Then I primed it with Zinsser ’s vegetable oil based primer coat and complete it with two coats of an antique blank rouge and then MinWax finishing wax .
I love the way it turned out . I did n’t get a chance to take as many pic as I wanted because it sold so chop-chop but below is what I have :
The second project was an old , nonplus up Sir Henry Wood plant stand . It was n’t oak or ache but it was made of a lighter wood . I forgot to take a before pic ( of course ) so I rule this one at Etsy by store owner funoldstuff ( and by the mode , she has some great onetime stuff , look into her out ) . It is very similar in elan ( without feet ) except mine was n’t oak tree and was a bit more baffle up .

Again , I sanded it to smooth out the wood and get disembarrass of any stay on finish , though there was n’t much . I used my respectable quondam Zinsser ’s oil free-base fuzee and then 2 coats of Hootenany Green ( D3 - 2 ) interior latex blusher by Dutch Boy . I went back and sanded off area that would by nature be more worn and then used 2 coats of MinWax Finishing Paste .
I love the daze of fleeceable this piece will enter into a way . If you have a pot of indifferent step and hues in your sustenance , sept , bathing tub or bedroom , tally an accent art object with a bold color really brings spirit to the whole room . Here is the finished product :

and in the kiosk :
redo Plant Stand in Lime – $ 27.95
So , there you have it . A span of more projects given new lifespan . Hopefully , there will be lots more soon !
