Highlights of the end of the gardening season
Today we ’re enjoying scenes of pin in Carla Zambelli Mudry ’s garden in Malvern , Pennsylvania .
Fall in the garden is a very in - between time of year for me . I have stacks of plant life that are transition , and lots and lots of chore . This is the season of rake and finalpruning , as well as clean up up beds and shredding fallen leaves for leafmulch . This is also when I plant mybulbsand do my final plantings of any bush or perennial I want to get in before winter . correctly now I do things like enjoy thehydrangeasin their fall form when their blooms interchange and their farewell change color in a set of pillow slip . And the blush wine are all call up for a declivity flush of odor and color .
There is also a Modern sphere I planted that Mother Nature half - created when I had to have some tree diagram work a few weeks ago after some more sick wind and electrical storm here in Pennsylvania .

In the woodland andshade gardenbeds there are all sorts of other things that you draw a blank you planted and then they flower — like thishardy begonia(Begonia grandis , Zones 6–9 ) , which is one of my favorite .
The franklinia tree(Frankliniaalatamaha , Zones 5–8 ) is not finished blossom yet either . And its blooms are among the prettiest you will ever see in any garden .
Pink berries on a Brandywine ™ viburnum(Viburnumnudum‘Bulk ’ , Zones 5–9).This shrub has bounteous heads of white flowers in the fountain , which produce these pinkish berries that then turn a dark bluing as they finish maturing .

More genus Viburnum Charles Edward Berry . I ca n’t remember for sure which cultivar this viburnum is — mayhap ‘ Mohawk’(Viburnum × burkwoodii‘Mohawk ’ , geographical zone 5–8 ) . I have a whole bunch of genus Viburnum . Unfortunately , I could n’t show you delineation of the elderberry berry , because the razzing took everything .
Towering blooms ofRudbeckialaciniata‘Herbstsonne ’ ( zone 5–9 )
Hibiscus - like blooms of an abutilon(Abutilonhybrid , Zones 8–10 or as annual or houseplant )

fond , autumnal colors on a ignominious - eyed Susan(Rudbeckia hirta , Zones 5–8 or as annual )
Hosta and fern are still looking good in the tint garden .
pinkish flowers of a turtlehead(Cheloneoblique , Zones 5–9 )
