Some are already fruiting whereas others are just getting started . I ’ve planted a assortment of prickly pear tree coinage , including some large - fruited unity I was get off in a trade from out West . My goal is to gather up as many motley of victual on my property as potential . Cacti are a good and underutilized fit with that goal .

That ’s one of my Christ’s-thorn Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree , flower away . The jujube is also know as the “ Chinese particular date Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree . ” Though it ’s by no substance a true date , the jujube fruit , when dry out , is alleged to share a spectacular similarity in flavor with the unrelated fruit of the date palm .
I ’ve planted three jujube trees in my yard and hope to before long carry them in my nursery . They seem to be amazingly tough trees as well as being quite handsome in the landscape gardening .

I say “ in all probability ” because I ’ve in reality plant multiple strains of tropical squash and Seminole pumpkins together in the Leslie Townes Hope of breeding my own massive mutant mammoth and incredible Florida squelch variety , Dave ’s Florida Pumpkin .
They ’re allC. moschataso they ’ll interbreed furiously . If I can get the taste and grain of a Seminole autumn pumpkin along with the size of a big calabaza , I ’ll be well-chosen .
Of course , I ’d be felicitous just to get a bragging freaky uneatable thing that look nerveless … so …
