A Unique Vancouver Island Garden

Teamwork on Vancouver Island has created one beautiful garden setting !

" I inherit my love of gardening from my Mom , though it did n’t really “ blossom ” until we moved back to Duncan on Vancouver Island 14 age ago . One task at a time , my husband and I started transforming our half acre yard . First we added the “ sunny ” garden in the back recess . My husband built a pergola in so that we ’d have a post to sit down out of the blistering good afternoon Sunday . I ’m the “ idea person ” and my husband is the builder – it ’s a pretty good combination!After the cheery garden we took up half the lawn in the back and created our “ suspect ” garden behind the home . This admit a dry brook bed where we put all the rocks that we dug out of the ground . We have very poor drain in our yard as it is all built on filling , so we ’re always seek to ameliorate the drain . Next amount our pool sphere . Of naturally we have Carassius auratus , but the biggest treat are the razz that are draw to the water for crapulence and baths . We have a deck / dock at one ending of the pool which restrain the Pisces the Fishes pretty safe from the heron and racoon . In between we have expanded garden , contribute terrace and seating areas , transplant many plants that did n’t work where I first put them and mostly have seek to make the garden as low upkeep as possible . We love to drop as much time as possible outdoors and are blessed here on Vancouver Island with such a farseeing gardening time of year . " Nora Dowsett
